My tutoring began in when I was employed with Nazareth Colleges' Partners for Learning program. This program worked with several schools in the Rochester, NY area to provide in school and after school tutoring and teaching assistance to children grades 6-12. I specialized at one school, Hope Hall in Gates, NY, where I worked with students who had a variety of learning challenges. I assisted students with subjects such as: English, Spanish, French, math, language arts, science and social studies. I worked with Partners for Learning for two years from 2005-2006 while I was finishing my undergraduate degree. I have also been employed as a substitute teacher in my hometown of Rochester, NY. My forte is science and math, which are often students' least favorite subjects, due to earlier difficulty. Each child is different. A good teacher helps each student meet their expectations while keeping the child interested in the subject matter. Each day my goal is the same, to get the most out of my students, and this can only be done when they are attentive and motivated. The best teachers I've had, and the one's I've gotten the most out of working with, have all had one thing in common; they cared about what they taught and even more so about those whom they were teaching.
