I have helped children and teens from all ages in the field of English as well as performing arts. I have a passion for fine arts and literature and enjoy tutoring and helping others. I also have a passion for mathematics and have tutored several classmates in past years. Here on the campus of East Carolina University, I have been involved in several different mentoring programs to help motivate and enrich children. During the Fall and Winter breaks I assist with End-of-Grade testing preparation at church.
My teaching style varies by the student. If the student learns fast and is persitent, I will move at a faster state, but if the student learns at a normal or a slower pace I will move at a rate in which the child will get the most out of the tutoring experience.

A Little Bit About Me...

I taught children's church for five years, while in high school and college. I attended Mt. Olive College for two years and transferred to East Carolina University to obtain a degree in Elementary Education. I received my BS in Elementary Education, as well as a certification in Reading for K-12. I did my student teaching with a third grade class; I was early released(Nov.2008) from my student teaching to take a kindergarten position. I am about to begin the my third school year as a kindergarten teacher. This past year, I completed a 20-30 hour Just Read! North Carolina course. I also completed a six-week online course on the WIDA standards. I have certificates for both of these courses. This summer, I attended NCCAT in Cullowhee.
