I have been tutoring mathematics in the Cincinnati area since 1997. I have worked with students ranging from elementary school through college level. From 2010-2014, I taught math and science full time at a local Catholic school. In Fall of 2014, I completed my student teaching at a local high school. In January 2015,I received my MA in Math Education along with my state teaching certification. The subjects that I have taught include: elementary math, pre-algebra, algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, trigonometry, geometry, statistics, general chemistry, and physics.
I typically will meet with students in their home or at a local library. I prefer that the student bring their books and notes from class so that I may see what the student needs to work on.

A Little Bit About Me...

I don't have a formal experience of teaching in a class, but i do have a lot of experience from teaching my fellow classmates and occasionally teaching in front of the whole class. Its actually easier for me to teach one on one since I think I can give the student all the personal attention they need and will be able to devote more time inorder to make them understand the subject and master it. I could also give them easier ways to help them capture and master the subject.

My main belief when it comes to teaching is that all students can learn. As an educator, it is my responsibility to make my students successful. I feel that it is my responsibility to teach to all learning styles to give the students the best chance at success. I believe that all of the students are capable of doing what I ask of them, some may have to work a little harder than others. My teaching style revolves around the idea of mastering important aspects of a subject area before moving to a more difficult subject area. In our current education system, students are allowed to move to more difficult courses without having the necessary building blocks. Through one-on-one tutoring, it is possible to take a couple steps back, assess a student's current capabilities and tailor lessons to the individual student (i.e. one student may need to back track and practice fractions before moving on to more difficult algebra).
