A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked in a wide range of business and educational settings and have worked with students from grade school to adult. When I earned my BS in English, with a thirty credit business minor, I already had fifteen years experience working in a family run retail store. I have since worked a range of jobs including teaching business, computer and English classes. I also worked as a computer systems installer, service manager and office manager. I bring to my teaching a wide range of experience combined with a strong understanding of my subject areas.
As a teacher I believe that students learn best by doing, so I plan my lessons to engage students with meaningful activities that are mastered with hands on activity rather than teacher lead discussion.

I believe that education is continuous and requires participation by all involved parties, meaning students must be active and constant participants in their education as well as the teacher. I also understand that no two individuals learn in exactly the same manner causing my methods as a teacher to constantly change to best fit the needs of the individual.
