A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with preschoolers and children K-8. Furthermore, I have tutored in Reading Comprehension, Math, Writing Skills, and Spanish. I have worked as an Office Manager, where I used Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Data Entry programs. Tutoring children in Reading Comprehension gave me great satisfaction because most of them made great improvements, and were able to raise their grades in this subject. I also taugh phonics, vocabulary and grammar to English Learners. Moreover, I teach children ages 10-13 bible classes. I volunteer at St. Joachim Church in Madera California. I also tutored students 7-8 Reading Comprehension, Writing Skills and Math (Basic Math, Algebra). My comments on tutoring Microsoft PowerPoint : I have taken classes regarding PowerPoint and I know this program very well.

I was a tutor in High School to the AVID students, I also volunteer tutored while attending junior college. I have experience helping mostly high school students but I feel comfortable and I am experienced enough to help middle school and elementary school children. I was also a nanny for close to 2 years and during that time, I tutored a teen who has Autism in all school subjects and was successful in helping her raise her grades and be able to study independently.
I am very hands on. I prefer to assess my students needs and then approach the subject to the area they specifically need help in. I have a lot of patience and am not afraid to spend a lot of time working on one or two things. If I can find a way, I like to make tutoring of studying a game or find easy ways to help my student(s) remember things better. Fun learning in my opinion, is the best way to learn.
