My comments on tutoring Elementary Social Studies : I have taught elementary social studies for thirty years in various grades from Kindergarten to sixth grade. Also, I attended extra social studies workshops that were presented through the school district and the International Social Studies Teacher Association.

I use a combination of both online games and Websites and hands-on manipulatives. First, I like for the student to take multiple intelligence tests and then I know how best to help the student. The information I gain from the analysis is extremely informative. It tells me where the students' strengths lie such as some students are musically inclined, some are visual learners, auditory learners, some are mathematicians and various other styles. Then, the style that they learn through the best is how I would teach the student; this is based on Gardner's Multiple Intelligence. Second, meeting the standards are essential in today's education system. The four C's of the 21st century is also necessary for students' to learn. They are collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with children for as long as I can remember. When I entered college I knew right away what major I wanted, Elementary Education. During college breaks I would work at the local daycare. There I worked with a variety of ages. The last year of college I worked with disadvantaged, at-risk students. I tutored them in reading and math during the school year.
