My personal style of learning is to learn by doing. I get my students involved in any process and get them to actually do the work so they learn it from experience, not just reading about it and taking for granted they know what is going on. Seeing the steps in action and seeing the final result brings a sense of accomplishment, which helps a student learn the correct way of doing whatever it is they are trying to learn.

A Little Bit About Me...

Through out junior high and I high school I have tutrored fellow students in the area of math, from basic to geometry, trig and calculus. I majored in computer engineering because of my love for math but I knew all the time that I should have been teaching. While in college I have continued to tutor whether it be grade school students or college students at home and over the phone. Math is my passion.

A Little Bit About Me...

Most of my experience is working with students who have issues beyond a normal student whether it be learning disabilities, behavior problems,or emotional/phsychological issues. I have taught in many alternative school settings, but I have also taught in main stream schools, both public and private. I have successfully taught students to read and write when the system had given up on them, and on the flip side of the coin, I have taught advanced placement/honors students. I have taught grades seven through twelve.

My teaching style has been part lecture, part class discussion, part in-class assignments, and some cooperative education, with the more advanced students being leaders in groups of 5-6 students. I enthusiastically guide and encourage my students to learn about literature, grammar, history, and the finer points of public speaking.
