Patience is one word to describe my teaching style. My main objective is to work with students on goal-setting and then concentrate on how to meet those goals.
My teaching experience includes several semesters of substitute teaching, and tutoring locally for 2+ years as a part-time job, dirived from volunteering as a tutor for family members and friends. A Little Bit About Me...

I have also integrated music with mathematics, science, and writing skills, and taught how these subjects apply in Electronic Music, teaching the math of harmony, frequency, voltages, sound waves, and fractions with music notation, combined with writing in lyric composition, journal writing, and research assignments, and learning songs.
I taught elementary school, full time contract, for 18 years at the Adelanto School District, which included grades K,1,2,3,4,5, and Gifted and Talented Students, Electronic Music Studio, and ESL Bilingual Students, and operated and maintained the computers for the District as a School Site Technology Specialist for about 3 years. I have tutored for many years. I first started tutoring in High School, then while I was in College and lately for the neighborhood children. I have brought younger children up to speed in reading (k-5). I have worked with children in Middle School and High School with their math work. I have tutored pre-algebra and algebra.
I have a completely hands on approach to teaching. I work with the student to see what it is they understand and what they do not. I am currently a pre-pharmacy student at Southern Utah University. I will be moving to Las Vegas in late april and am very interested in this position. I have taken exensive chemistry courses including General Chemistry I & II, Organic Chimistry I and II, Medicinal Chemistry, and Biochemistry. I have also taken Math classes up to and including Calculus I, and a large amount of Biology courses. I have been a Teacher's Assistant for Organic Chemistry this past semester. A Little Bit About Me...

Since I was a child, I knew I was a writer. I made it the objective of my study from middle school through college. I recently graduated with a degree in Journalism and Media Studies and have put it to work for the past year as a researcher/reporter with the Las Vegas Business Press. I believe children learn through experiences. I encourage children to work through what they are having difficulties with and guide them through the correct process. I believe just telling a child what to do doesn't actually give them an opportunity to process everything completely. That is why when I work with children I am patient and adjust the environment to each child's unique learning techniques.
I am a current student at UNLV earning my dual Bachelor degrees in Marketing and Health Care Administration.
