A Little Bit About Me...

I like to teach by example and give the student the opportunity to learn by doing. I do not do the work for the student, but instead allow him or her to do the work with my support until he or she is capable of doing the work independently. I am patient and thorough with my work. I do not get angry and I do not act strict with students. I also believe that I can learn from them just as they can learn from me, and therefore I always give them to chance to communicate their thoughts and feelings to me.
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor in political science in 2009. I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I was a Trainer and Communications Specialist in an industrial environment (17 years.) Trainer, U.S. Army Reserve, 2 years. A Little Bit About Me...

While pursuing my BA accounting and BA in business finance at Wilmington College, I was very involved in tutoring other students at the college. At Wilmington College, we had supplemental instruction which is basically a group tutoring session where the leader is chosen by the professor teaching the course. I was a supplemental instructor for five (5) different courses and I was also an individual tutor for the five supplemental instruction classes along with two (2) other courses. My teaching style is not typical since I am not a certified teacher. I am creative in my teaching style using a variety of techniques. I understand that each child and person learns differently (Auditory, Visual, Tactile) so I try to discover their style and incorporate as much as possible. I try to teach using real life experiences and examples. I break things down into simple parts before moving on to the next level. I believe that it is important to instill confidence in the student which raises expectations and increases motivation. I am very patient with a good sense of humor.
