My comments on tutoring Social Studies : I have excelled in Social Studies since I was in elementary school. This is because I have always found the social sciences/studies to be ever relevant within our lives and worth learning.

My preferred teaching methods are constructed in such a way as to optimise the student's time: 1) I like to receive a list of the specific trouble/problem areas of the student within the course ahead of time 2) I will then prepare a series of notes for these problem areas ahead of time 3) I will walk through these notes with the student as well as have practice problems ready to go through in detail 4) Lastly, the student will be given the notes to keep as a reference of their time with me This method has proven to be the greatest success throughout the years, and I only wish to make sure that I am of greatest value to the student.

If you need help with 6th, 7th or 8th grade social studies, Global History I or II, U.S. History (Regents or AP), a Government class, Psychology, AP World, or AP European, please let me know. (I can not help you with Economics though, alas.)

My comments on tutoring Social Studies : I am able to help your child study for tests, do papers, and projects relating to the area of social studies.

The first strategy that I use is building a relationship with the student by getting to know who they are, what there favorite things are, subjects, goals etc... This helps me discover what strategies I can use to help them learn. I also try to discover which learning method works best. Are they visual or auditory learner? Do they learn by having things taught step by step, or do they learn through visual or read aloud examples? I believe that every student has the ability to learn and to succeed; it is about finding the best strategy and providing that extra support.
