My love of mathematics began while I was in elementary school--I looked forward to those classes and took as many as I could from my high school, Wyoming Area. I had, at one point in middle school, helped to tutor some students in one of my classes. While in college at Susquehanna University, I had the priveledge of tutoring pre-calculus to local Selinsgrove High School students. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to share my passion for math with others. I believe anyone can comprehend math if given the right tools--learning math is like building a pyramid, you need the base to get to the top, and that is what I try to do, help these students grasp a solid base understanding of the topic. I get the attention of the students through a dialogue of questions and answers , diagnosis of all previous lessons and applying the lessons through excerising the lesson. I'm big on enhancing my students experience anyway I can for example I would go outside if needed make them act out the words or lesson to ensure they can relate it to real life and things they are familiar with outside the classroom.
