Recent Clemson graduate and experienced tutor!

I am recent graduate with a degree in French and a minor in biological sciences from Clemson University. In addition I have worked as a supplemental instructor at Clemson for chemistry students, which involves preparing review material and tutoring small to medium groups. I am familiar with the tutor cycle and other methods of effectively relaying information to students so that they can learn and develop their capabilities as a student.
I have experience with leading groups of students and one-on-one tutoring. I like to use examples, practice problems, and practical applications in teaching. I also encourage students to do as much work as possible on their own so that they develop their abilities and feel capable.

I have earned a Bachelors degree double major in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of the West Indies Jamaica. I first start by explaining the material the way that I understand it. I also show examples to show how the problems are solved. If it doesn't seem to be taking then I start to break the problems down into simple steps and explain each step until the student understands. I also try to relate the material to them so they can relate to the material on a more personal level so that the information will stick with them better.
During my time at Hampden-Sydney College, I was a math tutor, computer science tutor,and a physics tutor. I started tutoring my junior year of college where I just tutor math and computer science. I mostly help students with Calc I and Calc for Econ problems. In my senior year, I continued to tutor math, but I tutored stats instead of calculus. I also tutored physics.
