A Little Bit About Me...

I have always told my classes, "Learning can be fun; and if it's not, you may not be doing it right." Of course, that does not mean learning isn’t work; but part of growing up – and selecting a career – is learning that work can be enjoyable. I should mention that it is not my way to enforce memorization for the sake of it. If you understand concepts, that is much better. I always say “an example is the embodiment of a rule”. I am always committed to a student’s success; and will not let him or her give up. The biggest thrill in teaching is watching a student suddenly understand a concept. It happens frequently, and it never gets old.

As a graduate from Peabody College, I have had terrific hands-on experience from a first-rate institution. The University as well as on-site practicum work has inspired me to spread a knowledge of Spanish through fun and interesting ways. I also stress cultural awareness as I specifically focused in multicultural education and had the opportunity to live in Montevideo, Uruguay and Santiago, Chile for a year and half.
