A Little Bit About Me...

I am a recent graduate of Santa Clara University. I have a lot of experience in tutoring students in math of all different ages. Being a math major, a lot of my friends in college would come to me for math help when they weren't comfortable with getting a random tutor. I was a TA for several different math courses over the course of my 4 years at Santa Clara in which my responsibilities were to grade daily homework assignments and quizzes. From participating in that I have gained experience finding mistakes in students work and making suggestions on how to approach a problem better. I believe in Minimalism. I tutor Math from the point of view that the shortest path is the best path but everyone learns differently and finding the right method for my students is one of my main goals when tutoring. I teach students multiple ways to solve a particular problems and they get to decide which method works best for them, hopefully its the simplest method. My comments on tutoring Trigonometry : Please provide details on current trigonometry topic wanting to be tutored in. eg: inverse trig ratios. This will able me to prepare and better assist you.

I am very proficient with teaching my students to understand rather than just finish the activity or problem. I pay very close attention to the learning style of my students. I make sure they are focusing and learning rather than copying my teachings.
I continously tutor ages k-12, college students and international students. I have been tutoring for five years and enjoy sifting out the difficulties. My comments on tutoring Trigonometry : This course I took at Diablo Valley College, and did well in with above average grades. I loved using all of the formulas,unit circle,and graphs to solve the trigonometric problems.

My teaching style is multi-dimensional, and personally tailored to each specific student. Each student is unique and special. Everyone has a different learning style, which means each person has different need in terms of how they learn. I learn about each student, and take the time to figure out how they take in information. Also how they best understand their course material, and whether their learning style is Visual, Auditory, or Kinesthetic. Perhaps a person's learning style is a combination of these three things. When I teach, I use colors (pens/markers), diagrams, figures, counting figures(ex: colored counting bears), and a writing board to work out/solve math problems.
