I enjoy tutoring. I obtain gratification through helping students to grasp concepts that seem vague or out of reach. I always keep a professional relationship with people. I like to make people feel welcome to ask questions. It is important to respond to students in a manner that encourages them to ask questions. I also ask questions to obtain feedback on how to approach problems, build problem solving skills, and resolve issues that limit their understanding of subject matter. I obtained my Associates of Science Degree in Biology at Macon State College completing courses in Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Calculus. I then completed my Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology at Valdosta State University. At Valdosta State University, I completed courses such Microbiology, Molecular Genetics of DNA, Animal Physiology, Protein Biochemistry, and Statistics. With these courses came laboratory experience which has allowed me to strengthen my skills in writing laboratory reports. I also have experience in writing essays and research papers. I have tutored and mentored students in middle school and high school science and mathematics.

As a student in high school, I became fascinated with Chemistry and went on to earn a BS in Chemistry. The position I landed after school dealt with additives in rubber and plastics, so eventually I went on to earn a MS degree in Polymer Science. This helped me to land a better position. When the recession hit around 2000 and I lost my job, I determined to learn more about computers and summarily earned two AA degrees while working first part-time and later full-time in the computer field. My education background has given me a good understanding in math and science which helped me last year as I tutored several Middle and High school students in math and English
