A Little Bit About Me...

As a mechanical engineering graduate from Penn State, I have vast experience with the principles of physics and mathematics. As a junior and senior in high school I tutored students in algebra and trigonometry. In college I tutored students in my own physics classes as well as volunteering my time as a tutor for engineering students in statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, basic electrical circuits, and heat transfer. As I suffered through my younger years with Attention Deficit Disorder, I feel that it is extremely important to appeal to almost all of the senses when teaching. As for myself, I am definitely a visual learner, so I feel that visual aids are important. I am a big fan of hand outs in full color. You will often find me drawing a picture on the board. I feel it is important to hear it and see it, and if you can, touch it. Another important teaching style I implement, is watching my students and making sure they know how to do it. Going around and walking each student through the process and asking them to do what I did really confirms that the student understands what I have taught them.

I earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry with a minor in math.
