Genetics is one of my top subjects!

I have tutoring experience in the field of virology and viral/cell genetics (at the graduate level). My teaching philosophy was to have the student come in very prepared with questions/comments about the areas that were troubling them. I then went through area of study by area of study, and explained in the simplest terms the background, reasoning, and philosophy behind the science.
I am a recent graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology. Throughout my academic career I have always helped others, from explaining difficult concepts to peer reviewing papers in college. I want students to understand how to get to the answers, why the answers are correct and how to do it themselves. This skill boosts self esteem and confidence.
