Chemistry is one of my top subjects! I have a Masters in Chemistry and taught general chemistry at the college level for two years.

I find that the best way to tutor is to use a combination of different methods. For example, I think that pictures/ball and stick structures, reading materials, and having a discussion about the question at hand are all useful and important ways to completely understand Chemistry. I am an extremely patient person, and I believe it is imperative to understand one topic before moving to the next. I like to prepare extra handouts and materials for my students, because I find that presenting material in as many ways as possible is the best way fully grasp the concept.

My comments on tutoring Chemistry : Got a 5 in AP Chemistry, but forgot lots of it. May need memory-jogging.

I have just finished junior year of high school and will be a senior this fall. Throughout my life I have always been especially good at math. I never fail to get an A in math every year. In 10th grade I decided to skip Pre-Calculus from Algebra 2 to AP Calculus BC when I enter 11th grade. Interestingly, I still found AP Calculus BC to be relatively easy. I am the vice president of a tutor club at La Costa Canyon High School. I teach students after school all subjects. I also tutored students outside of school. During my junior year I tutored a girl in Pre-Algebra who did not understand how graphs work. I also tutored a high-schooler in Pre-Calculus two weeks ago who had a final in two days. I came to his house and tutored him for a total of 15 hours (he needed lots of help) in those two days.

I started tutoring when I was a college student. Upon my entrance to the SDSU Department of Chemistry, I was granted an opportunity to teach as a TA in Chemistry. I had been teaching for 4 years before I received my master's degree in December of 2007. In these 4 years, I always had good evaluations from students.
