I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting since that is what I enjoy the most about business. In the many years that I have been working since high school, I have always been a trainer for each company I have worked for. I have also been a Sunday School teacher for over 5 years. I have taught various grades and ages, from 3rd grade to 7th grade and am capable of adjusting my teaching style. I think that teachers need to be flexible, and be willing to adapt their teaching style to suit the needs of their students. This is especially true for tutors who are often involved in a one-on-one relationship with those they tutor. I'm patient and respectful of the difficulties students have with expressing their thoughts in words. It's not unusual that they get frustrated trying to fit them into what can seem like a formal and obstuctive grammatical framework. Math is also a subject with which people often have difficulty. Being empathetic to their struggles helps to overcome them. My experience has been that most who struggle with it do pretty well with math if they make the effort. I have eight years experience teaching Math at Lyndon State College in Vermont and at Lorain County Community College in Elyria, Ohio.
