I have over thirty years of teaching experience helping students succeed by developing their skills in language arts. Reading instruction is my passion and I have worked with students from Kindergarten through Grade 8. Also, I have helped many students pass state-mandated tests through the use of tried and true strategies and skill awareness. Helping students of all ages, learn the basics of reading and improve fluency, is something that I enjoy and have experienced great success. I teach how math and science can be useful and fun!

I have a BS degree in chemistry and an MS degree in math. I currently teach at the college level for various colleges including dual credit courses in many high schools. I have been a tutor for over 15+ years. I have been a statistician, a chemist in a laboratory setting, worked in the medical field, and done consulting for various companies through out my career. I love math and science, and my passion allows me to make learning and applying math and science interesting and entertaining to even the most difficult audiences.

Math can lead to greater success.

I have experience tutoring elementary math, algebra, geometry, college algebra , and preparation for the ASVAB and SAT tests. While tutoring my students I not only explain the method in solving a math problem, but I also challenge them with leading questions. I want to ultimately help them to develop a process to efficiently work through a problem. Also, I have a strong desire for my students to succeed in passing their class. Finally, I am passionate about students reaching their goals in math and other areas of their life.
I use both tactile and working through examples to explain how to solve a problem. I like to break down the problems into smaller pieces and work each piece at a time. I also backtrack to previous related concepts to ensure understanding.
