My comments on tutoring Basic Learning Skills : I have taught learning skills most often. It is a necessary foundation for life long learning.

I have taught full time in public and Catholic schools for 10 years. I taught part time as substitute, long term (months to full semesters or more), tutoring for 16years. While in college I had numerous teaching and tutoring experiences. I participated in the Multicultural Program in college and the American Indian Project. I student taught a full semester on the Hopi/Navajo reservation. I have taught all grades and adults but specialize in K-3 in which I have the most experience. Because my husband and I also had a career in sailing, I taught in several different locations: Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina and Florida. My comments on tutoring Basic Learning Skills : When I worked as a tutor at Huntington Learning Center, I tutored elementary aged students in basic learning skills such as writing, math and reading.
