A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is definitely one of facilitator. I present the material in a fashion, which allow students to experiment and develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills. From these skills the students will learn how to approach and solve the problems they are given. Students need to experience success and will do so. Failure is not an option. I always try to involve students in the lesson a great deal and to make sure that they are answering many questions throughout the lesson. This helps the student to be able to focus and learn and it helps me to know whether they understand. I then believe that each child needs the chance to complete a task with encouragement and success before independent work. Assessment should only be taken AFTER a child has experienced numerous chances for understanding, practice, and mastery. I worked as a retired teacher in the Adams Wells Special Services Coop for 3 years (2006-2009)as a teacher's aide with special needs students both in the elementary and high school levels. Those children varied from autistic, cerebal palsy, Attention Deficit Disorders with and without Hyperactivity.
