It is my belief that teaching is an honor and a passion, not a profession. Everyone has a different learning style and teaching to an individual is very important. I have been working with students since I was in Middle School myself. I went to college to become a special education teacher and am currently working as a resource specialist. I work with students who have learning disabilities, are at risk, have emotional disturbances, autism, or just need a helping hand. I have also taught in general education classrooms.
I believe every child is capable of matching and exceeding our highest expectations. Every child learns differently and that is my approach. I don't believe in cookie cutter education. I think each student is differnt and so is their learning style. As a teacher I want my student to find their confidence in math which mostly comes when they understand the subject completely. I not only have lot of experience under my belt but since I compelted part of studies in a different school system, I am able to explain one problem in several different ways. They say "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink it". As a teacher it is my job to make them thirsty for math so they won't be able to resist that water of knowledge.
