First and foremost, I love learning as well. Not only do I enjoy learning new subjects and ways to work with students, but I enjoy getting to know people and learning from them as well. One of my essential beliefs is respecting the learner and their particular learning style. I love people's capacity for learning. It gives me joy to know that I have helped another learn something new. I am patient, relaxed, and try to keep tutoring interesting for the recipient. It's important that the tutoree is engaged and enjoys grasping new lessons. I like to guide students into understanding the problem rather than just merely giving them the answer.
In 2006 I graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Engineering Science. It gave me an understanding in a broad range of mathematical areas as well as areas of other sciences. During that time I worked with volunteer organizations like Salem Housing and Habitat for humanity for three years, which enabled me to mentor a variety of ages. In the last year I've worked with a homeschooling group on a project called, "Leaping Lizards."
