A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored at DSCC and at MSU. I have taught at MSU. I have earned a bachelor degrees, BS in agriculture and MS in Agriculture, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. In addition, I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers and laboratory reports, along with essays in many various areas of study. During the last eight years I have tutored students in animal science, psychology, the arts, mathematics, and sciences.
I do the notecard stlye of tutoring and I do the repetition type of studying. I love teaching our youth. I am a firm believer in teaching through discovery and in providing a constructivist approach to learning. I believe that each student has their own style of learning and soak up information differently then other students. I myself like to learn visually and hands on. I have tried many styles of learning to see what works for me. I record lectures, take my own notes, like to question myself while I'm studying for a test. I think connecting something to something you already know will help you retain that new information very well. It makes me feel great when I know I have taught someone well and that they actual understand the information and are not just regurgitating what I am telling them.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is to go head on with my students and to address every weak point possible. It is crucial to understand how the student both feels and interprets information. If a student does not seem to comprehend using a certain teaching method then it is imperative to find a different way to present the course materials. I have been very successful with my teaching methods and have received continuous high marks in classes instructed,(can provide student feedback documented by ASU if needed).
