My comments on tutoring Algebra II : I am taking technical math in college. Algebra knowledge is required for technical math.

I was born in the upper west side of Mexico City in 1996. I attended a private bilingual school (Colegio Cumbres) from kindergarten to my junior year. While I was attending high school in Mexico, I also took two courses a literature course and a course in reading comprehension and writing composition proficiency given by UAEM (Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Mexico). I am now a teacher at a private school in Monona. I help aid a Preschool classroom and have my own classroom in the afternoon for students age four. I also run an after school program once the school day is done with and that incorporates 4 year-olds to seventh graders. I help students out with homework during that time. My comments on tutoring Algebra II : I'm not a math person - but then again, neither are you, right? I can teach you how to work through algebra as one non-math person to another.

Math is important to everyone...so is music.

I find that mathematics instruction is greatly improved by visual aid. I found that my most effective teaching tools were the white board and marker rather than the computer or calculator (although those are useful as well). I have also been able to adapt my teaching style to the learning styles of my students, whether they enjoy learning math or not. As for the saxophone, I believe that throughout a musicians instruction, a good balance between fundamentals such as scales and technical exercises, and repertoire such as solos and duets, is very important.
