I work for a community college and have done advising, enrollment, testing, phone directory, and student sevices. I have attended many professional development workshops on education.
Critical thinking skills and untraditional ways are what I focus on. However the way someone learns, I will try to set the individual up to show how they learn and work with them. The student then needs to step back and review the connections between these steps. When the student begins to see the logic of mathematics the easier it is to retain the material.
