My comments on tutoring Reading Comprehension : I have a reading endorsement on my Georgia teaching certificate.

I have taught English at the high school level for 33 years, both in public and private school. Currently, I am an instructor for a GED class. I team taught with a special education teacher for several years and encouraged the private school where I taught to hire a special education teacher at the high school level. I have taught all levels of English, from vocational English to low level students to honors students.
I particularly enjoy one-on-one teaching; I also enjoy asking students questions to draw from them the knowledge they are seeking.

My academic concentrations at the undergraduate level included computer science/programming, mass communications/magazine journalism, and Spanish/Spanish linguistics. A Little Bit About Me...

I was born to teach. From 10 years old I would teach my friends during summer vacations or whenever I could get them to play my favorite game, school, (Kids don't play school anymore). I enjoy helping students make the connections. I use a teaching approach that is hands on and generally seeks to find atudents learning style.
