My comments on tutoring Homework Help : I have been assisting with homework help at the local community college for several years.

I like to help students find out how they learn best by asking questions and through learning style tests. Everyone doesn't learn in the same way and by finding out the students learning style I like to then taylor how I help them learn based off how they will be able to retain the information best.
I have been working as a student worker at Blue River Community College for the past few years. I really enjoy being able to help students study and learn. I graduated with my Associates this year and am pursuing a teaching degree. I have also had experience with helping tutor the children of freinds and family. I have been teaching in the elementary and middle school classrooms for 13 years. I have worked as an after school tutor during many school years with 5-12 graders. I have never had formal experience tutoring. However Throughout my years of schooling I would participate in study groups which I see as everyone tutoring eachother. I also have two siblings, one very close in age and the other is approximately four years younger. Needless to say, I frequently helped my younger sister with her homework. Just to clarify when I say 'help' I do not mean I just gave her the answers, I would make sure that I either explained or demonstrated the correct way to approach a problem in order to make sure that she understood how to apply the knowlege come test time.
I am a kenisthetic learner but when "hands on" is really not an option I (especially with mathematics) draw so that I have a visual, physical representation of the task at hand.
