When teaching I try to break complex materials and concepts down into practical illustrations and concepts so the student can see the big picture then fit the concept into that picture. I graduated from California State University at San Francisco. While there I mastered my major of accounting as well as my minor in economics. I have over ten years' experience in all facets of accounting, audit and taxation. I have always been an exceptional mathematics student and my chosen field has enabled me to remain very strong in this area.
I spent one year tutoring accounting students who had difficulty grasping the basic concepts of accounting. I was able to explain the accounting concepts in different wording than the text books and I also created a "cheat" sheet to help them understand how to handle different accounting transactions. I am not a teacher, but I like to think that I can help out in a way that the student or person I am tutoring will learn. I love working with people, and anyway that I can help them learn better makes me feel better. I have children of my own and help them out with school work. While going to college at the UW – Eau Claire, I've been a math and statistics tutor for the past four years. I've also been a Teacher’s Assistant for a statistics Professor where my duties consisted of running review sessions for the class before quizzes and exams along with grading homework and exams. I have completed four statistics courses dealing with different areas of statistics. I also have experience in one-on-one tutoring. Over the past four years I’ve tutored seven students individually meeting at the library to work. Last year, though, I worked with a student who had Cerebral Palsy. While working at SM Construction I analyzed all the financial statements, processed the month-end closing, investigated errors and adjusted journal entries as necessary. I handled all phases of accounting while in this position. While working at Com-Tec I processed accounts payable, performed monthly reconciliations of the accounts that I was responsible for, assisted in month-end closing, and made adjusting entries when necessary. I was responsible for the monitoring and analysis of all the inventory transactions. As treasurer/trustee of my parish I oversaw all the bookkeeping and verified that everything was accounted for correctly.
