My comments on tutoring Elementary Grammar : I have specific materials for learning grammar. I include it in writing and presentation instruction.

In groups large or small I have always individualized instruction. I get to know each student's interests and abilities, then build on the abilities using the interests. I believe students learn better when they find activities interesting and fun. I have had students come up to me in a hall years later saying remember when we did ... I find or make games and activities so students can learn while enjoying. I also use patterns and any short cut tricks such as number patterns and phonics to make learning easier.
I have taught full time in public and Catholic schools for 10 years. I taught part time as substitute, long term (months to full semesters or more), tutoring for 16years.
