After graduating from the University of Illinois with a B.A. in Rhetoric & English, I gained a year and a half of experience in the field of Public Relations where I further refined my writing and editing skills. I spent two years as a long term substitute with Columbus City Schools. As a student-athlete at Illinois State University, I learned many invaluable skills. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Physics as well as minors in both Mathematics and Exercise Science. Earning this degree as well as two minors has allowed me to gain a large amount of knowledge in both science and math. Being a student-athlete also taught me great leadership, hard work, teaching and time management skills. In my final year at Illinois State University, I taught a physics lab course. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very laid-back, out going person but I never stray from the main goal at hand. I strive to help educate children the best way possible, and would like to make a difference in their life. My education growing up was very positive, and going to a smaller school enabled me to have one on one contact with my educators. I hope to allow the child to feel comfortable with me as a tutor and build a relationship that makes them feel like they are an individual, not a number.
As a recreation major, I have held a number of jobs working with children of all ages. My first job as a lifeguard and swim instructor helped me understand how to work with children ages three to fifteen and really get a feel for how their brains operate and the proper learning styles to use for each age.
