A Little Bit About Me...

My main experience lies in working with elementary aged children in literacy and religious education programs. However, I received a bachelors degree in political science from DePauw University and a law degree (with honors) from the University of Nebraska, so I have a great deal of educational experience to draw from in teaching students as a tutor. In addition to my educational experience, I also have “real world” business experience and excellent research and writing skills through working as an attorney, all of which I will also draw from while tutoring.
I enjoy working with students of all ages. I strive to encourage students to develop a love for learning and the ability to learn independently. I am an old school educator; my students learn the whys behind the hows. I absolutely love knowledge and plan to continue my education for as long as I can. I am currently working on a PhD in Fiction Writing at UNL, but I nearly have a BA in History, and would like to turn that into a Masters as soon as I can. I've been teaching English Composition, Literature and Creative Writing since 1998, and my students are winning awards left and right.
