It has been my experience that each student has his/her individuals needs and that each learns differently. Thus, I make a conscious effort to sit down privately with each of my students so that we can address his/her concerns effectively and put together a constructive plan to improve his/her skill set. As a tutor with Webster University's student literacy corps, I worked with individuals, pre-K-adult, on reading, literacy, and writing skills. I held this position for two years along with a summer position tutoring Algebra and French with HEC Upward Bound, which service at-risk youth. I found both programs extremely enjoyable and found that all of my students were eager to learn and improve their skill set.

I have been a full time classroom teacher for 13 years. I teach all subject areas. I have experience teaching grade levels K-12, primarily at the middle school and high school levels. I have extensive experience teaching special education students. I would describe my teaching style as one of mutual respect, encouragement and consistency. Since I have been coaching, I knew that I wanted to continue with passing on my knowledge to others. I believe that through teaching the passing of my knowledge can be most rewarding. Although I have worked with students in various fields and of various ages, I get the most satisfaction from watching a student succeed from diligent hard work and personal commitment to learning the task at hand. I feel that tutoring in a one-on-one setting best exemplifies this. Throughout my college years, I was involved in coaching high school aged students in baseball as well as younger kids in a baseball camp.
