A Little Bit About Me...

I began tutoring while in high school. I worked with children in Kindergarten and First Grade. I continued tutoring children through two Americorps terms with Communities In Schools in Ardmore, Oklahoma. While in college, I worked as a substitute teacher for the elementary schools in the Ardmore area. I now have my Early Childhood and Elementary Education Teaching License in which I am certified to teach Pre-School-8th grade. I worked as a First Grade Teacher at Charles Evans Elementary in Ardmore, Oklahoma from August 2008- August 2009. I worked as a Long Term Substitute at Ridgecrest Elementary in Lawton, Oklahoma from October 2009- May 2010.

A Little Bit About Me...

Since my graduation from Southeaster Oklahoma State University I substituted on all grade levels from pre-k to 12th grade for 2 years. I long-term substituted first grade from January to May of 2008 and 5th grade from April to May of 2007. I also taught 5th grade Science for the school year of 2008-2009. Substituting has enabled me to see the different learning styles and behaviors of many different types of children. I use this knowledge whenever stepping into unfamiliar classes and use it to my advantage.
I believe all children have their own pace and develop their own learning styles in which they are able to comprehend the knowledge that is being taught to them. Experience consist of 5 years as a Para Educator. I have been teaching high school level subjects to young adults with many different levels of mental and physical disabilities.
