Piano is one of my top subjects! I have a BA in Music with a piano pedagogy minor.

I believe in wholistic music education, so I teach note reading, music theory, and ear training. I use instruction, interactive activities, games, and performance opportunities to give students a relaxed and complete understanding of playing and performing at the piano.
While a student, I started teaching piano at the community music school at my college. In January 2010, I started teaching privately in Loves Park, IL. I now maintain a studio of 20-25 active students. I also am a licensed kiddykeys instructor. Kiddykeys is a preschool music appreciation and keyboard exploration course which teaches basic music skills to children ages 2 1/2-5.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with students of all ages and needs. I have worked with children in our public schools, as well as with autistic children in their homes. I have learned that patience and praise are major tools in teaching, enabling students to experience success and confidence in their education.
I tutored online for AOL for ten years. This included all grades, with emphasis in the science and music fields. I also edited articles for their knowledge database. Editing involved examining articles, making sure that each one was clear, concise, and free of mistakes. I wrote many articles for the database, as well, in several different areas of study.
