A Little Bit About Me...

I have sons ages 17 and 20, and continually took an active role in fostering their education. From the time they first set foot in kindergarten, through high school, I regularly volunteered, supporting their and the schools’ needs. I assisted in the classroom, chaperoned field trips, dances, etc., planned and participated at parties, special events and any role that could make a small difference. I am especially sensitive to the needs of students with disabilities, particularly those with ADD or similar issues. The opportunity to teach is really the opportunity to work with kids to make them stronger academically. I enjoy stretching a students learning abilities to levels that they are not aware they have. With my undergraduate degree in hand I taught Marketing and Sales at Whiteside Area Vocational Center in Sterling, IL, for eight years. I left teaching to enter the corporate world working for several companies, i.e., National Manufacturing Company in Sterling, Amerock Corporation in Rockford, and Greenlee-Textron in Rockford. I moved from a product manager to national account manager. Following my corporate experience I returned to tutoring students, K-12, in Princeton, IL, in math up through geometry, and specializing in tutoring students who could not go to school either due to an accident or illness.
I am best in a one-on-one environment and can acclimate to most personalities. I love learning and care very much about passing that on. I attempt to find each student's "barrier" to learning and customize my approach. I am especially good in the math subjects.
