I have a BS in Elementary Education. I taught first grade for 7 years, teaching reading, math, science, history and writing. I also tutored at Sylvan Learning Center for three years in Reading, Math (including Algebra I), Writing, Advanced Reading, ACT prep and Writing. I have a passion for Reading and believe students who are good readers can excel in any subject, including Math and Science. I have helped students in programs designed to foster success in middle school, high school and college. With my dual B.A. in History and English, I am capable of teaching a wide range of subjects in the liberal arts. My expertise is European Literature and History, specifically ancient and medieval, but I am also comfortable with the modern period. A Little Bit About Me...

As a child I loved to read and write. In High School I took the AP exams for both English Language and English Composition, scoring a 4 and a 5. It was a natural choice for me to major in English when I started my college career. While working on my degree I already knew I wanted to teach, so I began tutoring. I tutored two Korean families over two years, helping the children (ages 9, 12, 14, & 15), with their school subjects, and with their English grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, comprehension, and writing skills. I graduated May 2010, a member of Sigma Tau Delta (an English Honor Society), and Phi Beta Kappa (a national Honor Society), and with the Summa Cum Laude honor.
