A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I have always had a passion for learning and helping others. I was a Honors English student and I have a strong interest in reading and writing. I have worked as a seasonal scorer of standardized assesments for a year. I was an America Reads America Counts tutor for 1 1/2 years. I tutored youth K-12 in both reading and math. I also provided homework assistance with other subjects. During the last 2 1/2 years, I tutored youth residents and program participants in a variety of subjects.
I believe that patience and understanding are very important parts of teaching. I believe that it is important to understand an individual's distinct learning style. As an Eastern Il.graduate, in Education, I was extremely excited to achieve a high quality education. I have earned two BA degrees Education and Human Relations, which has enable me to receive, teacher certification in Reading and Language Arts. I'm currently pursuing my Master in Reading/Literature.
