A Little Bit About Me...

My fascination for math and science started right before high school level, which drove me to have the Ph.D. degree in chemistry. As an Organic Chemist, I know the subject very well and had gained extensive teaching and research experiences at undergrad and graduate levels.
Each student is different and hence my teaching approach is more on student specific. Teaching and learning are two major components of education; I would say it is a mutual effort. An effective teaching can generate interest in students and can make learning fun. It is very important to get feedback from the students about his/her understanding of the subject. I find pleasure to make a difference in all of my student’s life.

A Little Bit About Me...

I Studied chemistry at the University of Wyoming. During my years there I helped tutor many friends and friends of friends in the subjects of Chemistry, Math and Physics. Also, I worked as a lifeguard and used my skills to become a head lifeguard for a summer at a girl scout camp. In charge of the lake shore, I instructed paddling and canoeing. I want to pursue a career in teaching chemistry because I believe in making a positive impact on young adults through education in science that can be applied to their lives.
I learn visually and like to teach that way. I believe there is a great deal of concepts and memorization in Chemistry. I am not able to memorize all of the subject and would not ask a student to. To me chemistry has always been an exciting but often misunderstood science. The average person doesn't realize how much chemistry is around them and how chemistry is a fundamenal part of nature. I believe that relating chemistry to our everyday lives can be fundamental to having a better appreciation of the science. Getting the student recognize this can elp to instill a greater desire to master the subject. PC's have gone from a curiosity to now be a neccessity. Although software packages keep getting larger, they tend to operate in the same manner. Once a new user ovecomes any fear of computers, they can recognize the power of a computer which can open new worlds to them, especially throug using the Internet.
