I fundamentally believe anyone can learn. If a student isn’t grasping a concept, it just means I have to change my style of teaching. My teaching experience includes a wide variety of situations. I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with children in grades kindergarten, one, two, three and four in a number of educational models, including multi-age groupings, departmentalized models and the traditional classroom. In addition to my work with younger students, I have tutored high school and college students, as well as adult learners in the areas of language and writing.
My approach to teaching relies heavily on the use of modeling. A Little Bit About Me...

My broad-based educational background gives me a firm foundation for interacting with students on a variety of levels. I have taught both French and Mathematics at the college level, have tutored Math, Physics and Chemistry at the college level, and have substituted in high schools and junior highs as well. As a research mathematician with GE, I have explained mathematical concepts to adults with a wide range of backgrounds.
No one teaching style works with all students, or even a majority of them. I enjoy the challenge of finding ways to make academic subjects interesting and relevant to different students. I usually use a combination of guided discovery, question-and-answer, and hands-on approaches to teaching and learning.

Teaching is not for everyone, but I knew it was for me when I started student teaching and felt the adrenaline rush of 25 eyes staring up at me for guidance. I feel the need to spread as much knowledge as possible to the up and coming generations.I always feel rewarded when the day ends because I was able to help students get a better grasp on life. I also believe that the student is the teacher as well. Through my experiance, a student can teach an instructor just as much as the instructor can teach them.
