Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a teacher. My philosophy has always been, "make it interesting and they will learn." However, what is interesting to you and I may not be interesting to the next person. Although I have been self employed for the last 6 years, I went back to school last year to add Science and Math for middle school to my certification. I passed the Praxis for both of those subjects spring of 2010. I was not able to get a full time teaching position this year. I went back to working for myself but would love to tutor. The real skill in teaching any subject is the ability to notice when a student, who for all intents and purposes has the capacity to succeed in a particular subject, but does not seem to be able to achieve such success. My approach to teaching is to listen to the “student”. My highest math course was in differential equations, also I completed physics, chemistry, and electrical course material.
