The core principle I hold to as an educator is that to be a great teacher I must also be a great student. A willingness to expand one’s knowledge and points of view by interaction with colleagues, students and the professional world which ones teaches about is the best way to insure that students respect you and the information that you give them. If students are taught by a malleable mind, then their minds, too, will be equally flexible.
