My comments on tutoring Pre-Algebra : Passed with A's. Spent over fifty hours doing on-the-spot tutoring this and other math subjects on-the-spot.

I have had over fifty hours of experience tutoring math on the spot. Students would come in at whatever time was convenient for them while I was available with varying questions from a wide array of subjects. Sessions were student-led and I worked on quickly transferring between completely different topics.
I am used to student-led teaching. The students choose the topic they feel they need the most help with. I walk him/her through an example problem or two and then he/she does a few alone. Once I feel that he/she is comfortable with the topic, I ask whether he/she would like to try any more. As a tutor at Eastern University I came to the realization that not all students learned in the same way. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching is a difficult task. Everyone learns at a different pace and on their own level. Some students are quick learners and their teacher only needs to go over the lesson once; other students need to hear the subject content in a different form to understand it. Having said that, I can't explain my teaching style as a cut and dry formula. The skill level of each student and the way they process information will determine how I will present them with questions and explanations.
