A Little Bit About Me...

I have previously worked for an in-home tutoring service where I helped students improve their grades in various subject areas that presented difficulty. The students I have tutored in the past were either in middle or high school. I also have experience as a GED instructor, and one of the best feelings in the world is helping someone receive their GED. My comments on tutoring Science : I am a highly certified teacher (with over 20 years experience) and have worked as a tutor for 15 years. I'm able to tutor all elementary and middle grade level subjects. As well, I also tutor Algebra, general science, earth science, life science, biology, and chemistry at the high school level. If a Student enjoys a subject; it will be easier to learn.

I use a lay back positive reinforcement teaching style. I try to figure out things the student likes and relate it to the subject. My main goal is to get the student to like the subject and enjoy learning about it, for if the student enjoys a subject it will be easier for them to learn.

My comments on tutoring Science : I have a very broad background in science -- I have taken courses in earth science, meteorology, oceanography, physics, chemistry, biology, genetics, population genetics, evolution, ecology, environmental physiclogy, botany, entomology (biology of insects), and computer science. Thus I can successfully work with students in virtually any introductory course.
