I have recently graduated from Flinders University in South Australia with a MA (Teaching) of Secondary Special Education & year 6-12 Social Studies. In order to earn my degree, I completed two full time years of study and two ten week long formal teaching practicums where I taught a full (standard) course load in two grade levels of English, Social Studies, Health and Cross curriculum studies. I was a part time Aboriginal Education Officer at the Australian Mathematics & Science School, where I taught groups of students different English language and study skills. I believe establishing a solid personal report of respect with a student, and finding and focusing on positive characteristics, establishes a good foundation of trust and insentive for achievement for all parties involved. My good would be to provide the skills that accomplish this focus by reviewing the current status, contacting the subject teacher with proper permissions, and in-put from what the student is experiencing and how he/she feels about the educational matter.
