My comments on tutoring Science : Some of our teachers are Certified to teach all subjects of EC-6th grade that includes Elementary science. For high school science, we listed the tutors and their skills based on the exact science. Please call us to ask who is our current elementary teacher or tutor.

We are a tutoring company with a team of tutors and Certified Teachers. Each teacher and tutor is required to be experienced and have an education related to the subject or field they tutor or teach. Our teachers are required to be experienced and familiar with teaching in addition to tutoring. We can discuss each one's individual experience and credentials when you call. Learning is fun!

I have over ten years of teaching. I have taught ELA,Reading comp, math, science at all levels. I have taught in public schools, private schools, charter schools and at post-secondary institutions. I have been a tutor since 2003 where I worked with Sylvan Learning Center before starting my own education consulting service.
I try to narrow down my students's areas of strength and focus on areas that need more practice. My approach is open but effective.

More About This Tutor...

I've been passionate about math and physics for as long as i can remember. In high school I was enrolled in every AP math and physics class I could get my hands on, including Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Multivariable Calculus, Vector Calculus, and Differential equations. I continued to pursue physics as an undergrad at UT and am currently a senior set to graduate in december with a bachelors in physics. Physics is what I love and when you love something you want to help others learn and understand it as well as you do.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have extensive experience tutoring middle school through high school age students. I began tutoring groups of students as an exchange student in Austria, in 2012, working with 5th through 10th grade students in English at the BRG Koeflach (the local high school) where I was compensated as an official English tutor. In 2013, I assisted in German II, I would take half of the large class of over 30 high school students and teach the lesson for the day. In 2014, I assisted with German II, III and IV classes, answering student questions during lessons and helping in the classroom. I have provided one on one tutoring in many topics, including Pre-calculus, Calculus, Art History, U.S. History, Latin I, Biology AP, Chemistry, English as a Second Language, and German levels I, II, III, and IV AP.

My comments on tutoring Science : I can tutor high school students in most sciences. I am best with biology.

I have tutored various friends in English, poetry, reading, grammar, biology, music, and study skills since my own school days. I am a quick learner, and a diligent student myself. I am flexible in my teaching style, and am adept at communicating clearly with audiences of all sorts. I am also quite handy at helping students understand complex concepts.
I myself am a visual learner, but can teach in any of the major learning styles.

My comments on tutoring Science : PhD molecular biology, major medical biological research

It is my task to make learning easier for you. Relying on my knowledge and experience I will guide you through the subject, point out the key concepts, models and ideas and show how a specific piece of information relates to something you already know. This approach ensures that new information is no scary and huge pile technical details but a sum of ideas that make sense and are easy to understand.
I have a total of 10 years active research experience in medical biological and basic biological research. I earned my PhD at the Institute for Pathology in Basel for medical biological research. Then I had postdoctoral appointments at Tulane University and Baylor College of Medicine. Also I taught introductory courses to biology students at the University of Basel, for which I received excellent student feed back.

I use a wide variety of approaches to teach since different students grasp concepts in differ ways. This variety has helped me to adapt as the skill levels and backgrounds of my students changed. Some of the methods I have used include a combination of illustrations, hands-on models, presentations, the internet, and any other means that appeals to students. I have explained how the concepts being presented are utilized in cutting edge research laboratories or popular consumer products.
Since attending college, I have been infatuated with teaching. To learn the best strategies for teaching chemistry to students, I took a course entitled, “Instructional Techniques in Chemistry,” and served as the sole laboratory instructor for two sections of general chemistry during my undergraduate studies. I have taught non-science major undergraduates, continuing education high school teac ... read more

My teaching style depends on the student and subject I'm dealing with. For the non-reading adults I started by teaching them letter recognition and basic sounds; moved on to simple words; then sentances. During my college class I would review the evening's lesson and goals, then have the students perform the exercise in the textbooks. During the practical exercise I made myself available to all the students and gave one-on-one instruction to those that needed it.
I taught all subjects for adult learners preparing for the GED tests through Region IX Education Services Center's Adult Education program for 4 years in the evenings. I also taught English as a Second Language to adults. I am an Adult reading tutor for adults who could not read. I taught mathematics, vocabulary and biology to high school graduates preparing to take the nursing entrance exam at Vernon College. ... read more

More About This Tutor...

I typically employ the Socratic method: asking questions to discover what the student knows (or thinks he knows) and guiding his thinking toward discovering the knowledge himself. Both my three children and my Scouts have declared that they enjoy my teaching because it engages their interest and because it is frequently humorous (when the subject and the occasions permits). I really enjoy the company and conversation of young adults and find I often learn from them as they are learning from me. I also believe that the brain is like a muscle: the more it is exercised the stronger it gets.
My wife and I home-schooled our three children from 1993 until 2004. In addition, I was active in Scouts from 1994 until 2007 as Assistant Scoutmaster, Scoutmaster and Merit Badge Counselor. These positions are supervisory in nature and involve both formal and informal teaching, mentoring and ... read more

More About This Tutor...

I have been a tutor for the past five years. I have experience working with students with different levels of comprehension, i.e. those struggling to graduate and coaching those involved in UIL academics. I was an accomplished UIL competitor as well as a coach of the number sense/math/science teams at the previous school where I was employed. My strengths lie in mathematics (Calculus for example) as well as physics.
I can adjust to most settings. Right now I have a client back home that I work with on a once a month basis. I was used to high school and middle school students but have been working with their children who are in elementary grade levels. As such, they have vaulted to the top of their classes in math.

A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout my undergraduate years, I was recognized as an outstanding student and held the maximum number of teaching assistant positions every semester. I often met students in the library to hold tutoring groups, and I handed out my phone number in case someone needed my help anytime. I am currently working on my teachers certification, and my long term goal is to teach high school science. I have a passion for education and science, and I believe that my purpose for benefiting humankind is to train the future men and women of our country.
My preferred method of teaching is hands-on, through real experiments. Unfortunately, experiments cannot always be done, so I use lots of illustrations and age-appropriate analogies that are easy to relate to. Many times students are convinced that science is a subject too difficult to conquer, that they must just survive it, but science i ... read more
