I believe that all children require a different method of teaching. My goal is to find the key to help them become motivated in learning. Sometimes children predetermine that they are not good at an individual subject. If you can find a way to make this subject interesting to them you have solved half the problem. I enjoy working with children of all ages. I consider myself patient and understanding. Although I have my own style of art that I practice, I encourage children to express their own creative art styles. My style of teaching is hands-on, and helping children to be self directed. I teach by example and work hard to listen to the students to hear what they need help and instruction on. I am a firm beliver in have a long range goal and different ways to reach that goal.
I have bee a paraprofessional in the cherokee county school system where I was in charge of art projects for the class and grade level. I am also a professional picture framer and use my design skills to create framed art. For years I have helped children to "color outside the lines." I think that is a great life skill!
