I am a very hands on type person and encourage students to use manipulatives, pictures, or various other visual aids that may help them further understand the concepts that are being mastered. I feel all children have the capacity to learn but it is up to us as educators to find how to help that child learn. I started teaching professionally in Tampa, Florida in 1992. I continued to teach in the Florida Public Schools until 1999 before I returned to school to earn my Master's. Now, I teach English to Adults at Wallace Community College, which I have been doing since 2003. I love what I do.
