A Little Bit About Me...

I have learned that I enjoy teaching when it is in a more personal setting whether one on one or small class. That is why I enjoyed post secondary classes the most. For me one of the most important aspects of teaching is the ability to build relationships with the students. My teaching style is very simple, but is one that took a long time to learn. In college you are taught everything but HOW to teach. I learned the HOW by watching my teachers and having some very good mentors. I began to ask myself, " why do I learn more from this instructor than that instructor?" No matter what the subject is, you have to learn 2 things to reach the student. One, how does this student learn. Two, you can't force the information. I feel that a student learns more and shows more excitement when they are allowed to find answers on their own. This also takes building a relationship with the student.
